I appreciate your detailed feedback every times. I was looking forward it after the shipment. It is very happy to me those wares are became your favorites.
I got some Bizen sushi dishes, vases, sake ware and tea ware. But, my camera has been sent to Canon for repair. I think I would list new Bizen items in the middle of July.

Tokoname Kyusu Yakishime # 97 by Teruyuki

USPS just dropped the Teruyuki yakishime kyusu about an hour ago. I had just rinsed out the Hokujo yohen (comments below) and was getting ready to brew the next batch of shincha, so I swapped it for the Teruyuki.
Everything I said about the Hokujo also applies to the Teruyuki. The Teruyuki is a bit smaller, so it's hard to directly compare weights, but it is extremely light in the hand and the walls are very thin, making it an excellent pot for first-harvest sencha. It is actually more funtional than the Hokujo due to it's wide lid, which makes it very easy to get the tea leaves and water into it. It also makes it easy to remove the leaves when brewing is complete.
The pour, even with shincha, is very quick and smooth. So far, not only hasn't it clogged, but the pour doesn't slow down at all, even when using much leaf. When I've had clogging issues with sasame filters in the past, it was usually on the second and third infusions. I just finished the third, and it poured as quick and smooth as the first.
This is a superbly designed and exceptionally functional kyusu. It also looks great and is a pleasure to use. Yutaka, you really picked a winner with this one!
The package arrived safely and was well packed, and thanks for the extra.

Hokujo Yohen Kyusu

I recieved the black yohen kyusu by Hokujo a couple of days ago and have been using it ever since (this one is no longer showing on the website). The wooden box the kyusu comes in was well packed within the outer cardboard shipping box. There was also sufficient packing material within the wooden box to add extra protection to the kyusu.
The yohen I purchased is typical of Hokujo's kyusu- very thin and light, especially considering it's relatively large size (13 ounces filled to the rim). I've been brewing shincha in the Hokujo sice I received it, and it is perfectly suited to this first-harvest sencha with the small, very fresh, and tender leaf, First harvest sencha requires a kyusu that releases the heat quickly (i.e. thin and light) and the Hokujo yohen more than meets the challenge. This type of tea, especially the deep-steamed versions, can easily clog the sasame (clay) filters of some kyusu, but that has not occured with this one.
I already had eight Hokujo kyusu but have just given one away to a co-worker who has not brewed sencha before. As most Hokujo kyusu work exceptionally well, I thought if I gave her one the brewing results would be better and would help make her initial experience with sencha poitive. The Hokujo kyusu I just purchased replaces the one that I gave away, and I am more than satisfied with it.
This was another great purchase from Japanese Hand Craft and another great, functional Hokujo kyusu.
Thanks for the complimentary tea.
Dave

Bizen Beer Cup Pair by Hiroaki Omori

I am very pleased with these Bizen beer cups by Hiroaki Omori, both visually and functionally. I especially like the fact that this set includes two distinctly different Bizen styles. They look great and are very "neat" for a Bizen product. They have the visual changes we expect from Bizen but in a very pleasing way.
Beer tastes very good in clay cups and these are no exception. Judging strictly by taste,I can't say I'd choose them over my Tambayaki beer cups, which are extremely thin and light but quite ugly. The Bizens are a bit thicker and heavier, but still do a good job and they look much better. I enjoy and will continue using both the Tambayki and Bizen sets.
Thanks for another great product as well as for the complimentary item that was included with the order.
Dave

Bizen Sake Set by Hirokazu Shibaoka

I just opened the Bizen sake set by Hirokazu Shibaoka that was delivered yesterday. I was visually impressed as soon as I unpacked it. It looks even better than the pictures implied. This is one of the best Bizen sets I've seen.
I couldn't resist trying this sake set out right then and there. It is very enjoyable to use, the sake tastes great when served in this set,and other than the pour being a bit sloppy, it is a very functional set. The ridges on the sides help shield the fingers from the heat, making it a bit easier to pour the hot sake.
The wooden box is much larger than the tokkuri and cups so there is quite a bit of space inside for the set to move around during shipping. I recommend putting some large foam peanuts or equivalent inside in the future to prevent any possible damage while in transit. Other than that, packaging was very good. The set was recieved in perfect condition.
Thanks for the extra that was included. I look forward to receiving the Bizen beer cups and I hope that beer tastes as good in them as the sake does in this set.
